Bonds? What Bonds?
by Tom Baugh

One unseasonably warm spring day in Annapolis, an excited buzz was in the air. The eagerly anticipated cargo ship would dock by noon, and the risk and investment carried by many of those who were gathering in the square of the east port downhill from the courthouse circle would soon be repaid. The only real question in the minds of many there, as they watched the jellyfish lazily bobbing in the tendrils of the Chesapeake, was "by how much?"

A Nation Without A Country, Part VI: Stacking the Deck

by Tom Baugh

In the previous five articles in this series we saw how hypothetical secessionists might plan to strip the nationals of key resources. A secessionist might view certain national resources within their midst as bases from which the nationals might launch oppression. A key element of our hypothetical secessionist author’s plan is to use a nationwide crisis as a trigger condition for launching a coordinated multi-state secession movement.

A Nation Without A Country, Part IV: A Civilized Secession

by Tom Baugh

In this series thus far we have discussed the framework of secession via a hypothetical example of how simple events can easily spin out of control and lead to a populist demand for a national clampdown. We also saw how our situation today differs significantly from that faced by the quintessential example of government oppression, the Jews in Germany prior to the Holocaust. Hitler wishes he had had our technology at his disposal.

A Nation Without A Country, Part V: Crisis Secession

by Tom Baugh

In the previous articles in this series, we have discussed the implications of even the most civil secession movement, and the horrific consequences of even a best-case scenario. Yet, secessionists nobly believe that unbridled power at the national level is the root cause of many of the ills we see around us today. The previous installments of this series show what might happen should secessionists take a naive approach. The tentacles of the nationals surround us, in many cases at the urging of the nationalists in our midst.

A Nation Without A Country, Part III: Warm Live Hands

by Tom Baugh

When Forrest County, Mississippi, Sheriff Billy McGee liberated two ice-laden FEMA trucks in 2005 in the wake of Katrina, he probably didn’t intend to spark secessionist ideas in others. Yet, his landslide re-election in 2007 spoke volumes about how eager local citizens, particularly in rural communities, are to stand behind their local servants who keep community interests in mind. But to the nationals, his actions were intolerable. So, he and three of his deputies have been charged with national crimes against the people. His case is an abject lesson of how, in normal times, in the real world, no good deed truly goes unpunished. The nationals have all the time on their hands they need, and all the resources, too. If they run out, they’ll take more from you, or print more, which amounts to the same thing, of course.

Why is the federal government the largest employer in the country?

Might have something to do with all of the dead and dying small and medium sized businesses that have been driven out by over-regulation?

The good news for the collective? With all of that over-regulation you create the need for careers in interpretation, administration and enforcement of those regulations and laws (more government growth).  Are these the jobs that the current administration has promised?

The result? We lose jobs for individuals that actually produce and provide something that contributes to our positive life quality.

We gain attorneys, insurance agents, IRS agents, more police, accountants, lobbyists, politicians and more. All dependent on the federal government for a paycheck, and produce nothing of true value and in reality only exist to create an atmosphere for private business that is unbearable (negative life quality influences).

hmmmmmmmmmmm

The federal government HAS NO WEALTH............so who do you suppose pays for those jobs???
