Ronald Reagan will go down in history as the President that talked about reducing big government only to increase it by nearly 90%. Not to excuse it, but the largest portion of the increase was in the area of defense. If you will recall there was a little thing called the Cold War still going on at the time.
Fast forward to today..........the words of a young presidential candidate quoted above are now being taken off the back-burner.
Makes me wonder why we need a civilian national security force under control of the Federal Government and what enemy they will protect us from.
The it hit me!
ME
I am the enemy. Myself and anyone that has the audacity to speak out against the policies and controls of our Federal Government. Now I can recall the broadcasts that described myself and my ilk as, brownshirts, nazis, psychos, crazy people, astro-turfers.
And who are they going to defend? The blind faithful, the sheeple, the koolaid drinkers, the takers, the social parasites, the non-producers.
I am suddenly reminded of the German Workers' Party and their rise to prominence under a man named Adolf Hitler. You see, the German Workers' Party believed that Social Welfare was the business of the State. Our young Mr. Hitler also had no concern with the notion of attacking private property or the business class (entrepreneurs, business owners)
They established a party militia in 1921 and began violent attacks on the German people who did not agree with their ideology and policy.
Listen, I am not saying that this administration and the rest of our government is interested in racial purity or ethnic cleansing, but the parallels are becoming harder and harder to ignore.
